Cheese review (no palm oil, no-dairy)

We sometimes review products (as we did with Fry's). This time we decided to look at three new dairy-free cheeses made by Bute Island Foods which they informed us do not contain any palm oil.

Melty Smoked Cheddar, Melty Strong Cheddar,
and Spring Onion & Cracked Black Pepper soft cheese

We passed them on to our hard-working testers and will let them supply the rest of this blog post.

Spring Onion & Cracked Black Pepper soft cheese
"This has a subtle flavour and is as good as all the other soft vegan cheeses. I enjoyed it on crackers, fresh bread, toast, and as a sandwich filling with cucumber. I even put it on some olive focaccia and it was lovely!"

Melty Strong Cheddar
"Like the other melty cheese this works well on toast, but you can also enjoy it as a strong flavour vegan cheese in sandwiches and on crackers."
"I used it in a cheese sauce. Also used the cheese on top of a potato, celariac and beetroot gratin that I made. It gave the dish a nice flavour and melted well on top."

Melty Smoked Cheddar
"This is my favourite hard vegan cheese flavour so it was great to be able to try the new melting version. This still has a good smoked cheddar flavour, but has the added bonus of melting. I tried it on toast, and also as the vegan cheese in various recipes e.g. a risotto. It works well in all kinds of things."
"I sliced both types thickly and had them on toast with olives - really tasty."
